Access to government procurement opportunities (AGPO) was set up to facilitate enterprises and Businesses owned by Women, Youth, persons with disabilities and other minority groups to participate in government procurement opportunities in Kenya.

30 percent of Kenya government procurement opportunities are set aside specifically for enterprises owned by women, youth and persons with disability. This affirmative action program is aimed at empowering women, youth and persons with disability by giving them more opportunities to do business with Government.

Requirements and qualifications for AGPO registration.

General Requirements

To qualify to be registered under AGPO you to qualify, you will need the following documents:

  1. Identity Card(s)/Passport(s).
  2. Business Registration Certificate/ Certificate of Incorporation.
  3. PIN/VAT Certificate.
  4. Tax Compliance Certificate.
  5. Partnership Deed for Partnership Business.
  6. Memorandum/Articles of Association and CR12 mandatory for Registered Companies.
  7. For Construction Category – Letter/Certificate from the National Construction Authority, Energy Regulatory Commission or any other Authorized Public Technical Body.

Requirements for Youth

  1. National Identity Card/ Passport – youth are from ages 18 years to 34 years old.
  2. Business Registration Certificate/ Certificate of Incorporation.
  3. CR12 for Limited Company from registrar of business names.
  4. Partnership Deed for partnership business.
  5. Tax compliance certificate.
  6. National Construction Authority Letter/ Certificate for construction category.

Requirements for Women

  1. National Identity Card/ Passport.
  2. Business Registration Certificate/ Certificate of Incorporation.
  3. CR12 for Limited Company from Registrar of Business Names.

Requirements for Persons with Disabilities

  1. National Identity Card/ Passport.
  2. Registration Document from the National Council for persons with disability.
  3. Business Registration Certificate/ Certificate of Incorporation.
  4. CR12 for Limited Company from registrar of business names.
  5. Partnership Deed for partnership business.
  6. Tax compliance certificate.
  7. National Construction Authority Letter/ Certificate for construction category.

AGPO Registration in Kenya

Upon presentation of the required documents and execution of the application Form. Your application is processed for registration

AGPO registration certificate is thereafter issued to successful applicants and they can access government opportunities for Business.
